D’Eva Furniture Building In Turnersville To Come Down, Panda Express First New Tenant

The abandoned D’Eva Designs and Furniture building, a large white edifice with water fountain which sits at the prominent “fork” intersection of Black Horse Pike and Tuckahoe Road…  is planned to come down for a new, smaller retail building, according to Washington Township Planning Board approvals.

Wedged between the Walmart Center and the Automall.

According to the Planning Board resolution and meeting minutes, Developer Provco Group of Villanova PA, was approved to demolish the building, and replace it with a smaller 6,600 square foot retail building featuring a retail space, and two restaurants… with one of the eateries offering a drive-thru.

The documents reveal that the first tenant for the new building is Panda Express.  Panda Express is a fast casual Chinese food eatery with over 2,000 locations… and according to their location map there are currently none in South Jersey.  Looking at their online presence it seems to have similarities to the Pei Wei chain of eateries.  Update: The Courier Post reported that the last South Jersey Pei Wei closed last month in Cherry Hill, and the first South Jersey Panda Express is scheduled to open not too far away in Cherry Hill, in the Walmart shopping plaza.  A Vineland Panda Express is looking at a late December opening.

The Planning Board resolution is available online (PDF) and gives a very good depiction of the project and variances.

Online leasing pages reference a few depictions for the property.  At this time I am not clear on what the final layout will be.

As is the case with all of these “just approved by the planning board” projects, even though the developer has invested significant capital into this project to get it designed, and the town has approved… there is no guarantee that this will move forward.  That is entirely up to the developer at this point, although all indications are this is a go.

    1. Thanks Katie! I just searches again and see they are in Hamilton too. I’ll update it to say South Jersey. When o looked at their locator map it didn’t show any in NJ… but maybe I had a “within so many miles” option selected
